Crystal Palace Football Club started their 2006 preseason tour of the USA against their newly inaugurated development team, Crystal Palace USA. The match took place at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on July 15th 2006. The final score was 3-1 to the London side, but it was a fiercely contested game, with both teams impressing.

As is the tradition at all American sporting events, the USA national anthem is played.  Both Palace teams turn for the Star Spangled Banner.

After the US national anthem finished, the travelling Palace UK fans (led by Colonel Britain, center with hands cupped around his mouth) performed their own stirring rendition of God Save The Queen, receiving a warm round of applause from the entire crowd.
